A birth in a family – we love before we even see him or her! This sort of love lasts.
Love one another as I have loved you…..
The big original sin is that we don’t believe we are loved. God is big, huge in heart. Compassion, mercy, forgiveness and love.
If you want to love, know you are loved yourself.
The people wanted to think they were special and everyone had to keep all their laws.
‘Know you are loved’ : this is the message for all the first communion children this month – not that we love God but that God loved us first.
Love is to be received, and then is proved in deeds. Jesus asks for the fruit that will last.
The fruit of faith is love and the fruit of love is service.
We are people who care for the world around us.
Eucharist is always a celebration of God and a call to action.
The parish, the school, the family of Christ attends to God, to love and to service.

MAIDENHEAD WOMEN’S GROUP FOR EUROPEAN FRIENDSHIP The group was set up in 1965 with the initial aim to inform ourselves and others of matters in Europe, concerning women, through lectures and exchange visits. In each of Maidenhead’s twin towns, sister groups were set up to encourage friendship and understanding. The aims remain after 50 years of friendship despite time moving on. Our group has a regular programme of exchange visits with other European groups, both visiting and hosting annually: St Cloud in France, Bad Godesberg in Germany, Frascati in Italy, Kortrijk in Belgium and, since 2004, Salzburg in Austria. We meet at the United Reform Church, West St, Maidenhead every second Wednesday of the month at 2.30pm when we have guest speakers on broadly European topics. To support this, in Maidenhead, we also have European literature, art and music groups as well as language conversation groups. If you are interested in joining this non‑political, non‑sectarian European Friendship group (no second language necessary), more information can be obtained at: www.europeanfriendshipcircle.org or by phoning Anne on 01753 642078.
OLIVE WOOD CARVINGS The Good Shepherd Company from the Holy Land (Bethlehem) is based in Nottingham and works alongside St Vincent De Paul Society for orphans and elderly in Bethlehem. Our goal is to support and help Christian families in the Holy Land to stay at work as olive wood carvings is one of the most important source of income for them; 90% of the Christians rely on this sale. So selling their olive wood produce here (rosaries, crosses, cribs and religious statues), will prevent the Christians leaving the country in search of better work opportunities. The bishops of Jerusalem say there are only 41,000 Christians left in the area. The craftsmen have a small association which helps to pay for the poor and needy especially those who in need of medical care as the Holy Land doesn’t have a welfare system to support them.

REFLECTIONS Each Tuesday. Come any time between 7.30 and 9.30pm to an informal evening of prayers and meditation. We normally start with silent adoration (30 minutes) then we share one commented decade of the Rosary followed with meditation through music (from Aramaic to Hillsongs!). We focus on private intention as well as communal ones and all are invited to present their petitions (should they wish to do so). Our aim is to pray more meaningfully in the presence of our Lord and to acknowledge our own needs as well as the needs of our parish and community. Anyone wanting prayer can also write in the book of prayer requests at the back of the church, as the entries of the week will be called out during the evening. If two or three are gathered in my name...
