ADMISSION INTO ST EDMUND CAMPION SCHOOL AND NURSERY is based on Mass attendance for some categories. In our parish, we have an attendance card available from the table in the church lobby. Every time you come to Sunday Mass get your card stamped in the parish centre. You will need the Parish Priests's signature on the SIF form, once your attendance in 2019 has been completed. For information on the current Admissions' Policy see the school's website, www.st-edmund.org.uk.
Dear Parents and Parishioners,
We are writing to you for a few reasons. The first one is to reassure you that IF the school, nursery or church is closed for any length of time over the next weeks or months, this does not mean the community shuts down or that the leaders and staff in the community stop serving it. Now more than ever, it is important to remember that a community is not about buildings but about people.
Secondly, it is important for us to know who the vulnerable in the school, nursery and parish community are. This could be in terms of being in self-isolation without a network of extended family or friends able to help; those in ‘at risk’ groups; those who don’t have transport and may need help with deliveries of food, prescriptions or other essential items; those who have limited internet access or those who are lonely and struggling.
Please contact us directly at email@example.com to let us know if you are in need of anything at all or to let us know about a fellow member of the nursery, school or parish community you have any concerns about. Any information or requests for help will be dealt with sensitively and discreetly but may help us to be able to give a little support if necessary. Please don’t worry that unwanted support will be forced upon people!
This email address will be open for the next few months and will be checked daily. Many of you have already brought to our attention those who might need support over the coming months; we would appreciate it if you would send an email through even if you have already mentioned it to us in passing. We don’t want any members of our community to fall through the net during these potentially challenging times.
Thirdly, you may know of people within the wider Maidenhead community in need of support, please do let us know if we can be of any assistance.
Remember, in addition to remembering basic hygiene, the most important thing we can do to support our community right now is to follow the guidance from Public Health England and self-isolate for seven days if you have a persistent cough or temperature of over 37.8 https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/covid-19-stay-at-home-guidance/stay-at-home-guidance-for-people-with-confirmed-or-possible-coronavirus-covid-19-infection

COVID-19 Coronavirus: The global spread of Coronavirus (COVID-19) is a fast-evolving situation. We are currently observing Stage 2 guidance in our Coronavirus (COVID-19) advice for parishes. Please follow the link: https://www.cbcew.org.uk/home/our-work/health-social-care/coronavirus-guidelines/ . Our parish and it’s church activities will continue to remain open until we are instructed otherwise by the Government and/or the Conference of the Bishops of England and Wales. The pastoral area has taken the decision that the Chalice (Blood of Christ) be not distributed for the coming weeks. The faithful are encouraged to receive the host (the Body of Christ) on the hand. In addition, we will no longer offer a physical sign of peace or pass round the collection bags. Instead of passing the collection bags, we will have two baskets at the exit at each Mass. Both will be for the normal and second collections for the Lenten project. We will take £700 as a standard amount for the parish and then all monies over will go straight to the Lenten projects.
BAPTISMS Noah Hull on Saturday the 21st March; Henry Ennis on 22nd March.
THE SEASON OF LENT Lent offers us all a very special opportunity to grow in our relationship with God and to deepen our commitment to a way of life, rooted in our baptism. In our busy world, Lent provides us with an opportunity to reflect upon our patterns, to pray more deeply, experience sorrow for what we’ve done and failed to do, and to be generous to those in need.
